Data Management Systems was
incorporated in 1983; DMS is one of the first three IT
Companies established in Egypt when there was a limited knowledge
about IT career in it.
In 1983 – 1985 (Tailored Application period):
-
DMS started the development of the largest Management Information Systems
(MIS)
Information
System
in
Egypt
which
was
the
National Social Insurance System (NSIS) for the National Social Insurance
Organization.
- Due to success in NSIS Project, DMS has been awarded to go ahead with the project to cover
all the Ministry Of Insurance activities to implement the National
Pension
Insurance
System
(NPIS)
and the
system of Nasr Social Bank.
In 1986:
- DMS decided to divert
its direction to the development of the first true bilingual
solutions serving the Arab region (Arabization)
- DMS started by covering the four basic types of MIS which are:

In 1987 - 1988:
-
IBM
appointed DMS as the first business partner in Egypt
to offer total MIS solutions on all IBM platforms (VLA
agreement).
- DMS started a contract with IBM Paris to conduct several training courses allover the Middle East and Africa.
- IBM announced the AS/400 which has been installed by DMS one month after
its
original
announcement
starting
the
actual
coding
for
its
main sectors.
In 1989:
- DMS developed applications for the ministry
of insurance in Sudan which is considered as the largest automation
project that has been developed in the country.
- DMS overspread its technical prevailing over IBM in both
Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
